Who we are and how to contact us
Afrovest Global Capital (“Afrovest,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website and its digital deal-matching platform. For privacy questions or requests to access, correct, or delete information, email invest@afrovestglobalcapital.com. Please do not email passwords, payment-card numbers, identity documents, or other sensitive financial records.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect contact and account details; investor or company applications and profiles; organization, professional, geographic, sector, investment mandate, and capital-need information; messages and files you choose to submit; match, introduction, availability, and meeting records; membership plan and subscription status; and support or inquiry information. We also receive basic technical and security information needed to operate the site, such as request timestamps, browser/device information, and security logs.
Calendar connection data
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, we receive your Google account identifier and email address, OAuth access and refresh tokens, and the calendar information needed to check availability and schedule a meeting. Our scheduling flow checks busy/free periods; it does not request or retrieve unrelated event titles, descriptions, or attendee lists. When a meeting is booked, we create an event on the connected calendar and may update or cancel that event if the meeting changes. The event includes the meeting time, an Afrovest introduction description, the invited attendee’s email address, and any meeting link.
Calendar tokens are encrypted before they are stored by the platform. You can disconnect Google Calendar in the Meetings area or revoke its permission from your Google account. Disconnecting stops future platform access; it does not automatically remove an event already placed on your calendar. Calendar access is used only to provide the scheduling features you request, and is not sold, used for advertising, or used to determine creditworthiness. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How we use information
We use information to review applications, create and maintain profiles, evaluate fit against investment mandates and company needs, operate introductions and meeting scheduling, administer membership and billing, send requested service and account messages, respond to inquiries, prevent abuse, protect the platform, and meet legal or recordkeeping obligations. Optional opportunity-match emails can be managed through your profile preferences. Essential account, security, scheduling, and billing messages may still be sent when needed to provide the service.
When information is shared
We share information with authorized Afrovest personnel who administer the platform and with service providers that help us operate it, such as Cloudflare for hosting and storage, Stripe for payment processing, Resend for email delivery, and Airtable for prospective-investor interest submissions when that integration is configured. Those providers receive information needed for their services and handle it under their own terms and privacy practices.
We share profile or opportunity information with another participant only as permitted by the platform’s access rules, your choices, and the introduction or meeting workflow. Calendar availability is used to find a time; unrelated calendar details are not shared with another participant. A scheduled attendee receives the meeting invitation information needed to attend. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Storage, security, and retention
Platform records are stored in the site database and file storage. Information is transmitted over encrypted connections, and calendar OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest by the application. We use access controls and reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
We keep account information while an account is active and afterward as reasonably needed to provide the service, preserve introduction, meeting, and billing records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and meet legal or security obligations. Inquiry and application information is kept as long as needed to review and respond and for related recordkeeping. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to backups and legal requirements.
Your choices and privacy rights
You may update profile information and email preferences in your workspace, disconnect a calendar, and request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by emailing invest@afrovestglobalcapital.com. We will review and respond to requests as required by applicable law. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, billing, or business-record purposes. You can unsubscribe from optional marketing or opportunity emails using the instructions in the message; essential service notices may continue.
Cookies and third-party services
The platform may use essential browser storage or cookies for sign-in, session security, and core site functions. Public pages load web fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive standard technical request information such as your IP address. Google Calendar, Stripe, Resend, Airtable, and other linked providers process information under their own terms when you use their features.
Separate Afrovest organizations
Afrovest Foundation is a separate nonprofit organization, and Afrovest Media is a separate destination. They are not services of Afrovest Global Capital. We do not automatically transfer platform information to those organizations for their own use.
